Skip Dating, Inc. ("Skip," "we," "us," or "our") provides tools designed to help people make more informed decisions and plan safer first dates.
Skip's tools can help reduce dating risks, but they cannot eliminate risk or guarantee any user's identity, background, intentions, conduct, compatibility, or safety. Background checks, ID reviews, profile reviews, profile verification, deal breakers, badges, reports, and other safety features provide limited information at a point in time. Always use your judgment and follow safer dating practices.
This policy applies to content and conduct on Skip. It may also apply to conduct involving Skip users that occurs through a Date Card connection, outside the platform, or during or after an in-person date.
Users must follow this Safety Policy, Skip's Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, and applicable law.
For this policy, misconduct that threatens public or personal safety includes an act, threatened act, or attempted act of homicide, unlawful sexual behavior, assault, kidnapping, stalking, harassment, involuntary intoxication, robbery, theft, or other conduct that threatens public safety or another person's safety.
Skip prohibits content or conduct involving:
Violations may result in required profile changes, content removal, restricted access, temporary suspension, permanent removal, or other action described below.
Engaging in sexual conduct with another person without that person's consent violates this Safety Policy, is against the law, and may result in criminal or civil liability.
Consent must be freely given, informed, specific, ongoing, and capable of being withdrawn at any time. A match, background-check status, badge, planned date, previous sexual activity, or agreement to meet does not constitute consent to sexual activity. A person who is incapacitated cannot consent.
Women matching with men may choose whether to require a background check before the first date. If a woman enables the requirement, her male match must complete the required process before he can propose a date. Men cannot require women they match with to complete one. Men or women may also choose to complete their own background check through Skip.
There is no charge to require a background check, but the person completing the check may be charged a fee.
Skip partners with Checkr to provide background checks. Screening may include an SSN trace, national criminal record searches, sex offender registry searches, global watchlist searches, and other records included in the selected screening package, where available.
What Skip means by "SSN verification." Skip uses this term for a combined process that includes a Checkr SSN trace and Skip's separate government-issued ID and profile review. A Checkr SSN trace searches databases for names and addresses associated with the submitted Social Security number. It does not confirm that the Social Security number belongs to the person who submitted it and is not identity verification. Skip separately compares the name on the submitted ID with the name used for the background check and compares the ID photo with photos on the Skip profile. This combined process can help reduce impersonation and fraud risk, but it does not verify or guarantee identity or safety.
Background checks are limited by available records, reporting rules, jurisdictions searched, data quality, and the date of the search. Records may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, unavailable, or legally restricted from being reported.
Records that may affect eligibility. Skip does not automatically exclude every user who has any criminal record. A reportable conviction or other legally permissible record may result in a user not receiving a passed background-check status, being unable to propose dates, or having an account restricted or disabled. Skip considers the type, seriousness, timing, frequency, and available context of records, subject to applicable law and any required notice, dispute, waiting-period, or appeal process. More information is available in Skip's Background Check Policy.
If a user does not receive a passed background-check status after review, Skip may restrict or disable the account, remove the user's background-check status, or prevent the user from proposing dates. A user who believes the underlying report is inaccurate may use Checkr's dispute process and may also appeal Skip's account action as described below.
A passed background-check status may remain valid for up to 12 months. Skip may require another check when that period ends, important information changes, fraud or impersonation is suspected, or another review is appropriate. A background-check badge shows that a user received a passed background-check status at a particular time. It does not verify identity, predict conduct, or guarantee safety. Skip does not display a user's full background-check report to other users.
Age restriction. Skip is available only to people who are at least 18 years old. Users enter a date of birth during registration, and Skip does not permit registration with a date of birth indicating that the person is under 18. The date of birth entered at registration is self-reported and is not independently verified at that stage.
When a government-issued ID is submitted for review, Skip may review the date of birth shown on the ID to help confirm adult eligibility. Skip may suspend or remove an account if it reasonably suspects that the user is under 18 or provided inaccurate age information.
Profile verification. Skip's profile review may include a guided selfie and manual comparison with the photos displayed on the user's profile. A blue profile-verification badge indicates that the submitted images appeared reasonably consistent during that review. It does not verify legal identity, background, intentions, or safety. If Skip cannot complete the comparison, the user may be required to update the profile or submit new images before continuing to use affected features.
Government ID review. As part of the background-check process, Skip reviews a submitted government-issued ID and compares relevant names and photos with information submitted for the check and the user's Skip profile. This review can help identify inconsistencies and reduce impersonation risk, but it does not conclusively establish identity or guarantee safety.
You may report a user through Skip's in-app reporting option or by emailing info@skip.dating. You may report conduct that occurred on Skip, through a Date Card connection, or during or after an in-person date involving a Skip user.
When reporting, provide as much relevant information as you safely can, such as the user's name or profile, what happened, when and where it occurred, supporting screenshots or other evidence, and whether anyone may be in immediate danger.
You may also block a user. Blocking is designed to prevent the two accounts from being shown to each other again, but it does not replace reporting when there is a safety concern.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. Skip is not an emergency-response service and cannot provide medical, legal, or crisis assistance.
Do not knowingly submit a false report or report someone for a malicious, retaliatory, discriminatory, biased, or other illegitimate reason. Abuse of the reporting system may result in account action. A good-faith report does not become false merely because Skip cannot substantiate it based on the available information.
Skip generally does not disclose the details of its review or enforcement decision to the reporting user.
Skip manually reviews reports using the information reasonably available to it. Depending on the circumstances, Skip may review profile information, account activity, prior reports, date information, submitted evidence, and other relevant records.
Serious safety reports. After an initial review, Skip generally suspends or restricts an account when the information reasonably available to Skip indicates a credible serious safety concern. The restriction may remain in place while Skip conducts further review. This interim action is a precaution and is not a finding of wrongdoing.
Serious reports include credible allegations of physical harm, sexual misconduct, threats, stalking, abusive or threatening behavior, exploitation, suspected underage use, human trafficking, or another threat to public or personal safety.
After review, Skip may take no action, require a profile change, remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, temporarily suspend the account, permanently remove the account, preserve or disclose information when required or permitted by law, or take another action reasonably related to the concern.

Skip makes enforcement decisions based on the available information and the seriousness, credibility, context, and history of the conduct. An enforcement review is not a court proceeding and does not determine criminal or civil liability.
Skip may use account identifiers, including phone numbers, to help identify and prevent suspended or removed users from avoiding restrictions by creating another account. Skip may preserve or disclose information and cooperate with law enforcement or regulators when required or permitted by law, including in response to a valid legal request.
A user whose account has been suspended or permanently removed may appeal by emailing info@skip.dating. The appeal should identify the account, describe the action being appealed, explain why the action should be changed, and include any relevant supporting information.
Skip manually reviews each appeal using the submitted information and available account records. Restrictions remain in effect during the appeal. A time-limited suspension remains in effect until its stated end date unless Skip overturns or modifies the action. Skip will communicate its appeal decision to the appealing user but does not promise that an appeal will be resolved within a particular time.
An appeal of Skip's account action is separate from a dispute about the accuracy of a background-check record, which may need to be submitted through Checkr's dispute process.
Skip does not routinely notify previous matches or dates merely because it receives a report about a user.
After an individual review, Skip may provide a limited direct notice to an identifiable user when Skip determines that credible reports of physical violence, sexual misconduct, threats, stalking, human trafficking, exploitation, or other conduct present a serious or imminent safety concern, or when notice is required by law or valid legal process. The notice may state that Skip received a safety report and may include relevant safety guidance.
Any notice will be limited to information Skip determines is reasonably necessary. Skip may withhold the reporting person's identity and other sensitive information unless disclosure is authorized or legally required.

These measures may reduce certain risks, but they cannot prevent every harmful act, identify every false profile, detect every criminal record, or guarantee a safer outcome.
Following these practices does not make you responsible for another person's misconduct.
