Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 2.13.2026
At Skip Dating, Inc. ("Skip," "we," "our," or "us"), we prioritize your privacy and are committed to safeguarding your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our app, website, and services (collectively, "Services").
By using our Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using our Services. For any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at the end of this policy.
“Definitions used in Skip”
*Skip’s Definitions: “Ghosting” means a user stops replying in chat, leaving the other person without clarity on whether things are continuing. “Bots” means automated chat messages not sent by a real person. “Unsolicited pics or D*ck pics” means photos sent in chat without consent, often inappropriate. Skip does not offer in-app chat, so these issues do not occur within Skip.
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal data and usage information to improve your experience with Skip.
Personal Information
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password.
- Profile Information: Photos, bios, interests, preferences, and other profile-related data.
- Payment Information: Payment and transaction details (for example, billing contact details and purchase history). Payment processing is handled by our payment processors, who collect and process your payment card information.
- Device Information: Data regarding your device such as IP address, operating system, device type, and browser information.
- Location Information: Geographic location data, if you choose to share it with us.
- Background Check Data: If you choose to run a background check or if you are asked to complete one for a match, we collect information needed to facilitate the background check (for example, identifying details and the status of the check). We may also receive and store background check status results from our service providers.
Government ID and Identity Review
- If you choose to complete identity review, we collect a photo of your government issued ID (for example, driver’s license or passport) and may collect a selfie or live photo used for comparison. We use this information to review whether the ID appears valid and whether the identifying details and photo reasonably match the information and photos on your Skip profile. This process is a review and does not guarantee that a user is who they claim to be. We may compare identifying details on your ID (such as name and date of birth) against information you provide and information associated with your Skip profile to help detect fraud and impersonation.
Usage Data
- App Usage: Data on how you use the app, including interaction with features (e.g., clicks, swipes).
- Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to track activity in the app and enhance user experience.
Log Files
We also collect log files, including:
- IP addresses, browser types, ISP information, date and time stamps, and referring/exit pages. These logs are not linked to personally identifiable information but are used for analyzing trends, administering the app, and tracking movement across the app.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your user account.
- To enhance, maintain, and improve our Services.
- To personalize your experience, providing tailored content and recommendations.
- To process transactions and notify you about purchase confirmations.
- To send you important updates about your account, service announcements, and promotions.
- To prevent fraud and ensure the safety of our community, as outlined in our Safety Policy.
- To facilitate optional background checks, enforce screening requirements for dates, prevent fraud and abuse, and support safety reporting and enforcement.
- To display a background check status badge on your profile when applicable. When displayed, this badge may be visible to other users.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To perform identity review, detect fraud and impersonation, support background check flows, and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines. If you do not complete identity review, some features may be unavailable.
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your personal information under the following circumstances:
- Third-Party Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors that help us operate our Services, process payments, provide customer support, or analyze user behavior.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information to law enforcement, governmental authorities, or other third parties when required by law or in response to a legal request.
- Community Engagement: Your public information (e.g., profile, posts) may be visible to other users when you interact with the app, in accordance with our Community Guidelines.
- Background Check Providers: If you start a background check or need to complete one for a match, we share the minimum necessary information with our background check service providers and their subprocessors to process the check, return status results, and provide support.
- We share government ID and identity review information only with our service providers and internal reviewers as needed to operate the feature, prevent fraud, provide support, and comply with law. We do not sell government ID information. Government ID images are accessible only to authorized reviewers and service providers who need access to perform identity review, and access may be logged.
